From here, the serious hill walkers and climbers have access to some of the most remote areas of Scotland, with enough terrain to keep the most enthusiastic happy for weeks.  The Lecht ski area (about one hours drive) offers alternative skiing if conditions are uncertain.

Mountain Bikers have no better base than Inverdruie.  Local shop,
Bothy Bikes can organise bike hire (can be booked in advance) and repairs.

Low level walkers and ramblers are spoilt for choice with numerous local walks around Rothiemurchus Forest Loch an Eilean and Glenmore.
Pop into
Loch an Eilein Pottery and Penny Weir will teach you to ‘throw’ your own pot!!

For children, the Landmark Centre in Carrbridge is Speyside’s Mini Disneyworld.  Other local attractions include the

A must for the whisky enthusiast is a day on the
Malt Whisky Trail – Visit one of the many Distilleries which have fantastic visitor centres offering tours and tastings. (Who’s the driver??)

For fans of the BBC series
Monarch of the Glen, an enjoyable day can be spent spotting the various setting used for the filming, including Broomhill Station (on the Strathspey line) and Ardverikie House on Loch Laggan.

Eating Out – Aviemore has numerous eating establishments, however, we recommend The Old Bridge Inn – 15 minutes walk - great food, and a fantastic range of cask beers.

If you fancy a short drive, Anderson’s Restaurant is only 10 minutes down the back road and  has a great Bistro atmosphere. There is live entertainment in the Old Bridge Inn most evenings.
